Appropriations Requests for Community Project Funding

Congressman Norcross submitted funding requests for important community projects in New Jersey’s 1st Congressional District to the House Appropriations Committee. The application for FY24 Community Project Funding has ended. Guidance on the reforms governing Community Project Funding (CPF) is available here, and additional guidance for each Appropriations Subcommittee can be found below depending on your project.

Please note that Community Project Funding is not be allowed under these five Appropriations bills in Fiscal Year 2024:

  • The Labor, Health and Human Services, Education
  • Financial Services and General Government
  • Defense
  • Legislative Branch
  • State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs

Under guidelines issued by the Appropriations Committee, projects are restricted to a limited number of federal funding streams, and only state and local governments and eligible non-profit entities are permitted to receive funding. For-profit entities are not eligible for this funding.

In compliance with House Rules and Committee requirements, Rep. Norcross has certified that he, his spouse and his immediate family have no financial interest in any of the projects he has requested.

Proposed Recipient:  Army Corps of Engineers

Request: $18,000,000

To make improvements to stormwater drainage and combined sewer outfalls.

Replacement and upgrades of the Camden County Police Department’s various IT equipment and systems

    Summary:  Improvements to Comly Avenue Water Treatment Plant to treat contaminants such as such as PFAS and 1, 4 Dioxane.

    Summary:  Roadway and Safety Improvements to Locust Grove Boulevard and Village Boulevard.

    Summary:  To redevelop an old factory site into a community event space.

    Summary:   The Borough of Glassboro is looking to purchase a new electric bus and charging station.

    Summary:  Purchase and installation of Citywide Security Cameras to increase safety in parks and public areas.

    Summary: The construction of a new municipal complex that will house both the Borough’s police department and courts.

    Summary:  Increase capacity at the Kings Hwy to provide safe potable water, ensure enough water reserves to provide fire protection, improve water system resiliency and enhance cyber security measures.

    Summary:  Upgrades to a multi-use path to provide safer pedestrian and bike traffic through the Borough.

    Summary:  Construction of a new municipal complex that will house both the Borough’s police department and courts.

    Summary: To remediate the mercury contamination in the recreation center floor.

    Summary:  To purchase and renovate two buildings for affordable handicapped accessible senior housing.

    Summary: To make improvements to two connected lakes, replacing the failed outfall spillway at Ward Lake and improvements to stormwater infrastructure at Spring Lake.
