When there’s a prayer, there’s a way.

Sewell resident Grace Bobby, group leader for the South Jersey chapter of America Needs Fatima, was hoping to lead a rosary rally to the Sept. 23 canonization of Junipero Serra in Washington D.C., led by Pope Francis.

She called the office of state Rep. Donald Norcross; no tickets were available for the 23rd. However, his office did have tickets for the pope’s address to the Joint Session of Congress, scheduled for the morning of Thursday, Sept. 24.

The Holy Family parishioner, 65, quickly organized a bus and 43 pilgrims from the Diocese of Camden, to D.C., where, on the West Front Lawn of the Capitol, they watched Pope Francis’ speech on large monitors. Later, the Holy Father greeted the 50,000 pilgrims on the lawn.

“The Lord was behind this,” Bobby said, remarking on the rapid nature of finding out there were tickets, then finding pilgrims, then the trip itself. “I’m hoping and praying that our representatives heed Pope Francis’ words,” she said.
