Washington, DC-Rep. Donald Norcross (NJ-01) today announced a $5,240,424 Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) Grant for the Camden Fire Department. The funds will enable the department to hire 27 full-time firefighters with salary and benefits for the City’s nine fire companies.

Among the recipients of the grant award, Catholic Charities, Diocese of Camden, Inc., which will receive $1,299,852.
