Camden, Gloucester Superfund site received $222 million in court settlement

An ongoing environmental cleanup at the Welsbach and General Gas Mantle site has been award $222 million in a court settlement, U.S. Rep. Donald Norcross (D-1 of Camden) announced Monday.

..."For too many generations, South Jersey families have been forced to live with the consequences left behind by these now-defunct manufacturers," Norcross said in a statement released Monday afternoon. "While remediation measures have been taken over the years, this monumental settlement delivers peace of mind and justice for countless residents concerned that their safety and property values have been taken for granted."
