State auditor finds Camden renaissance schools lack oversight

...U.S. Rep. Donald Norcross, who as a state senator was one of the architects of the Urban Hope Act, recalled a school system in dire need of help before the advent of renaissance schools and the state takeover of the district.

..."In 2013, Camden City was home to 23 of the 26 lowest-performing schools in the state. Many of the schools had crumbling ceilings and were unsafe spaces for our children to learn," he said.
