CHERRY HILL, NJ – U.S. Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01) today announced $358,842 in federal grant funding from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for local fire departments.

"Our first responders are more vital to us now than ever before, and this federal funding will help protect those who are keeping us safe through the pandemic,” said Congressman Norcross. “We must do all we can to ensure our firefighters are as safe and well-equipped as possible to respond to fires, battle natural disasters and save lives. These resources will allow our local fire departments to better their programs and equipment, so that the ones who run toward danger have the support they need to do their job best.”

The following local fire departments received grants through DHS funding for operations and safety:

  • $176,422 to Cherry Hill Fire District from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFG)
  • $113,029 to Winslow Township Fire District No. 1 from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program - COVID-19 Supplemental (AFG-S)
  • $36,219 to Gloucester Township from AFG
  • $16,619 to Audubon from AFG-S
  • $13,726 to Glassboro from AFG-S
  • $2,827 to Haddon Fire Company No. 1 of Haddonfield from AFG-S
