Our national workforce keeps our country running and provides invaluable services we often take for granted. Nobody should have to work multiple jobs or extraordinary hours to provide for their family, save for retirement or feel financially secure. As an electrician by trade, I know the best social program in the world is a job and I believe every worker must have an opportunity to succeed, which starts with fair pay. Women have made great strides in history, but it’s time they receive equal pay for equal work and the opportunity to maintain a work and family balance. We need to ensure working families have fair wages, safe working conditions, and a voice in the workplace.

WASHINGTON, DC – Representatives Donald Norcross (D-NJ), David McKinley (R-WV) and Linda Sánchez (D-CA) today introduced legislation to designate July 10, 2018 as Journeyman Lineman Recognition Day. Twenty-five Members of Congress have co-sponsored the resolution.
CHERRY HILL, NJ – Following President Donald Trump's nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to be a U.S. Supreme Court Justice, U.S. Congressman Donald Norcross released the following statement:
"The Supreme Court represents one of our three independent branches of government – not a tool for ideological agendas. Unfortunately, the President's nominee is far outside the mainstream, and his appointment threatens to remake the crown jewel of our democracy into a rubber stamp for Trumpism.
WASHINGTON, DC – Ahead of the final weekend of Pride month around the country, Congressmen Donald Norcross (NJ-01) and David Cicilline (RI-01) led a group of 47 Members of Congress in writing President Trump to express dismay at his Administration's failure to recognize LGBT Pride Month, and to share broad concerns regarding efforts to turn back the clock on LGBT rights. This lapse marks a break in long-running precedent of White House recognition of LGBT rights during the month of June, and follows a series of harmful policy decisions that have adversely affected the LGBT community.

AFSCME Council 31, Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01) – who heard oral arguments for this case, as well as Friedrich v. the California Teachers Association in 2016, is a member of the House Education and the Workforce Committee, an electrician by trade and the first labor business agent in Congress– issued the following statement:

...Representative Donald Norcross, a New Jersey Democrat and member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, attacked the court's claim that the Abood decision violated workers' First Amendment rights, and called the Janus decision a "dangerous precedent."
..."If you applied this decision outside the scope of public unions, government would cease to function," Norcross said. "How many people would stop paying their taxes if we said the First Amendment allowed it?"

..."Rowan University's program allows building trades members to receive an affordable bachelor's degree in the construction field, and NABTU is making Rowan's program even more affordable for our local students," said Rep. Norcross.
...Norcross and Sweeney, who both enjoyed trade union careers before entering politics, praised NABTU for funding the new scholarship program, which is designed to cover $7,200 in Rowan tuition for one member of each of the 14 trade unions NABTU represents.
