Today, U.S. Congressmen Donald Norcross (NJ-01) and Frank Pallone (NJ-06) sent a letter to Douglas L. Parker, Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA), asking the agency to investigate workplace safety at Amazon's warehouses in New Jersey.

"Despite commitments by Jeff Bezos to make Amazon the 'Earth's Safest Place to Work,' reporting suggests that conditions for the Amazon workers are worsening and are out of line with industry norms," Norcross and the other delegates wrote.

Today, U.S. Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01) reiterated his call for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to investigate the safety of Amazon's warehouses following reports of a death at one of the company's warehouses in New Jersey.
U.S. Rep. Donald Norcross (D-Camden), one of the letter's signers, said he and his staff have met with Amazon representatives three times to seek an explanation of the higher injury rate, but he has not been satisfied with the company's responses so far.
"Amazon clearly has a vested interest in putting the correct spin on this. It's their reputation," Norcross, who earlier this year led much of the state's Congressional delegation in drafting a letter to OSHA, asking it to conduct an analysis that could help determine if warehouse operations like Amazon's need more oversight.
