CHERRY HILL, NJ – Today, Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01), a member of the House Armed Services Committee and father of a veteran, announced and congratulated the region’s 2023 congressional nominees for the United States service academies.

“I never cease to be amazed by the outstanding students coming out of South Jersey,” said Congressman Norcross. “As a member of the House Armed Services Committee and father of a veteran, it is my honor to nominate these impressive young women and men to the United States service academies. Congratulations to the nominees, their parents, and their teachers. You make South Jersey proud.”

Students wishing to attend the U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, or the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy must receive a nomination from the vice president or their U.S. senator or representative. This year, 18 students were selected by Congressman Norcross and a committee comprised of community leaders, active-duty military, veterans, and service academy alumni to receive nominations to the service academies.
