Health Care
Access to high-quality health care is a fundamental right and is critical to our prosperity as a nation. Our current health care system focuses largely on treating symptoms, not prevention or finding cures, so our priority should be funding cutting-edge research. Social Security and Medicare are critical safety net programs that serve our nation’s most vulnerable, so we need to ensure their benefits meet the needs of American seniors by accurately reflecting their cost of living.
Additionally, we need to support initiatives that increase investment for great scientific breakthroughs. Over the past hundred years, scientists have made great strides in combatting deadly diseases such as polio and measles, both of which have been virtually eliminated in the United States. We must continue to fund these life-saving advances in medical science.

These are our heroes of today and our veterans of tomorrow. Once these courageous men and women are back on U.S. soil, they'll need somewhere to turn for their health care. I'm working to make sure they have the absolute best care possible.
