WASHINGTON, DC – This Friday, Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ01) will join a bipartisan Congressional delegation to visit Selma, Alabama and mark the 50th anniversary of the historic civil rights march that ultimately led to the Voting Rights Act. The pilgrimage will be led by Congressman John Lewis of Georgia, a leader in the Civil Rights Movement.

Washington, DC – Last night, Congressman Norcross voted to increase access to quality care for veterans who are unable to live independently. Entitled the Long-Term Care Veterans Choice Act, the legislation authorizes the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to partner with long-term medical care providers to help veterans in need. Congressman Norcross cosponsored the bipartisan measure, which was approved by the full House of Representatives.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Donald Norcross took the House floor to urge Speaker Boehner and House Republicans to pass a clean, long-term measure that will avoid a Department of Homeland Security shutdown and keep America safe. If Congress fails to act by midnight on Friday, the Department will be forced to furlough or deny pay to as many as 212,000 law enforcement officials, disaster response officials, and other DHS personnel throughout the country – including more than 5,600 DHS workers in New Jersey alone.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, President Obama will sign into law H.R. 203, the Clay Hunt Suicide Prevention for American Veterans (SAV) Act. Supported by Congressman Donald Norcross, this bipartisan legislation bears the name of a veteran who took his own life in 2011 and seeks to end our nation's growing veteran suicide epidemic that claims an estimated 22 lives every day.

Haddon Heights, NJ – Today, while visiting with servicemembers at New Jersey's top military installations, Congressman Norcross hailed the passage of legislation he championed in the New Jersey State Senate that will allow veterans attending New Jersey's public colleges or universities to pay in-state tuition rates.

Washington, DC – Tomorrow, Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ01) will join members of the New Jersey Congressional delegation to tour the state's key military installations and receive briefings from their commanding officers.

The delegates will be escorted by the New Jersey Air National Guard 177th Fighter Wing out of Atlantic City and will visit servicemembers at the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, Picatinny Arsenal, and Naval Weapons Station Earle. The trip is being organized by the New Jersey Department of Military and Veteran Affairs.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ01) announced that the ongoing environmental cleanup at the Welsbach and General Gas Mantle site, which spans Camden and Gloucester Cities, has been awarded $222 million as a result of a historic court settlement.
