Cherry Hill, NJ – Today, Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01) announced that CAMcare Health Corporation was awarded a $2,002,760 grant from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS). The funding comes as the second installment of an overall $3.4 million in federal grant assistance this year.

The grant will be used to support overall operations at CAMCare, which has provided high quality comprehensive health care to Camden's medically underserved since 1978.

"Grants like this are the lifeblood for departments like Haddon Township's," he said in a statement released Wednesday. "This federal grant will allow the men and women of this department to have the most up to date life-saving equipment without having to make harmful budget cuts or add local taxes."

When a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces passes away, the Veterans Affairs Department provides a headstone at no cost. But should a spouse die first, the VA won't provide a headstone unless the couple is going to be buried in a national, state veterans or military base cemetery. That means that a spouse who predeceases a veteran and is buried in a private cemetery will lie in an unmarked grave unless the vet pays for a marker.

Washington, DC– Today, in honor of Memorial Day and in tribute to our fallen heroes, Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01) introduced the Dignity for America's Military Families Act, which fixes an oversight in current law and allows veterans and their loved ones to be buried together in a place of their choice.

"Duty is a two-way street, " said Congressman Norcross. "Just as our veterans answered the call to protect our freedom, we should be doing everything in our power to make sure government works for them back home."
