Access to high-quality health care is a fundamental right and is critical to our prosperity as a nation. Our current health care system focuses largely on treating symptoms, not prevention or finding cures, so our priority should be funding cutting-edge research. Social Security and Medicare are critical safety net programs that serve our nation’s most vulnerable, so we need to ensure their benefits meet the needs of American seniors by accurately reflecting their cost of living.
Additionally, we need to support initiatives that increase investment for great scientific breakthroughs. Over the past hundred years, scientists have made great strides in combatting deadly diseases such as polio and measles, both of which have been virtually eliminated in the United States. We must continue to fund these life-saving advances in medical science.

The grant recipient, Project H.O.P.E., specializes in providing primary health care, behavioral health care, and social work services to the city's most vulnerable populations. WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01) announced that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will grant $270,000 in federal funding to Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine (RowanSOM). The grant will increase their capacity to treat and raise awareness of endometriosis among women and curtail the disease of opioid addiction in South Jersey. Endometriosis is a chronic pain condition found in ovaries, fallopian tubes, or the intestines, which could lead to life-threatening complications and opiate use disorder.
