"The people who are coming from Ukraine across the border were walking," Norcross described. "Literally might have a backpack, might have a plastic bag full of their belongings. Primarily women and their children and the despair on their face quite frankly says it all."
As Republican politicians across the country continue their assault on LGBTQ people, Representatives Norcross and Pocan said they are standing in solidarity with New Jersey's LGBTQ community and their families.
"Investing in quality, safe roads for our community is a must. The newly reconstructed 27th Street is going to be a huge relief for locals," U.S. Rep. Donald Norcross, a Democrat, said. "Driving on this road is a bit like riding a rollercoaster, and not in a fun way. But thanks to strong partnerships between every level of government and residents, we're able to start this important project to improve our streets and the quality of life for people who live here."
"The easy thing to do is just put coating over the top, but then you're back to dig up the pipes that break, the water that leaks every time a utility goes in," Norcross said.
"Oil and gas companies are making record profits and working people are paying for it," Norcross said. "This legislation will lower costs at the pump and deter the sort of corporate greed we're currently experiencing while protecting vital state infrastructure trust funds."

As a longtime traveler of New Jersey roads, Congressman Donald Norcross, who represents the state's first Congressional District, told Patch he sympathizes with those who think Garden State's roads need improvement.
"The offshore wind industry in South Jersey means good-paying, clean energy jobs for local workers. To accommodate economic growth, we need to invest in the infrastructure that will support a growing industrial base right here in Paulsboro," said Norcross.
