Young joined Congressman Donald Norcross (D-Camden), Camden Police Chief Gabe Rodriguez and Carstarphen on Wednesday morning to deliver the $500,000 federal allocation to the Camden County Police Department. The money is part of a larger $4.3 million allocation for South Jersey community projects, which Norcross announced earlier this month.
"This is about creating the next generation of worker for the offshore wind industry," Norcross said after the ceremony. "New Jersey will have the largest offshore wind manufacturing plant in the country. What does that mean for our constituents? Jobs, clean energy, affordable energy."
They were "ordinary Americans doing extraordinary things," men whose "remarkable bravery" earned one of the highest honors a grateful nation could bestow: the Congressional Medal of Honor, said U.S. Rep. Donald Norcross.
