Camden, NJ-Rep. Donald Norcross (NJ-01) today marked Equal Pay Day by demanding Congress pass the Paycheck Fairness Act, which he cosponsored in the U.S. House of Representatives.

"It's sad that this day even exists on the calendar. But, the terrible truth is that today marks the 103 extra days the average American woman has to work to earn as much as the average man did the year before. That's not right. Women shouldn't have to play 'catch up' to the men in 2016," said Rep. Norcross.

"Seniors are among our most valued citizens. They worked hard their whole lives and paid into the very system that's now supposed to be supporting them in their retirement. Instead, they're being denied a raise because of a flawed government formula. That's just wrong," said Rep. Norcross.

Washington, DC-Rep. Donald Norcross (NJ-01) continues his fight for pay equity, with an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2017 federal budget that would enact the Paycheck Fairness Act.

Norcross, a member of the U.S. House Budget Committee, demanded passage of the Act and offered an amendment that would help the U.S. Department of Labor identify instances of pay discrimination. Norcross' amendment would also help women who are victims of pay discrimination get a fair hearing in court.

Washington, DC-Rep. Donald Norcross (NJ-01) renewed his call to close a loophole in U.S. law that allows those on the terror watch list to legally purchase firearms, citing national security concerns.

Norcross, a member of the House Budget Committee, introduced an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2017 Budget urging passage of the Denying Firearms and Explosives to Dangerous Terrorists Act.

Cherry Hill, NJ-Rep. Donald Norcross (NJ-01) today announced a $324,316 federal grant has been awarded to Project H.O.P.E. in Camden to fight the region's growing heroin & opiate crisis.

The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services grant will enable Project H.O.P.E. to hire two additional certified drug & alcohol counselors and two licensed clinical social workers.
