Washington, DC-Rep. Donald Norcross (NJ-01) renewed his call to close a loophole in U.S. law that allows those on the terror watch list to legally purchase firearms, citing national security concerns.

Norcross, a member of the House Budget Committee, introduced an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2017 Budget urging passage of the Denying Firearms and Explosives to Dangerous Terrorists Act.

Cherry Hill, NJ-Rep. Donald Norcross (NJ-01) today announced a $324,316 federal grant has been awarded to Project H.O.P.E. in Camden to fight the region's growing heroin & opiate crisis.

The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services grant will enable Project H.O.P.E. to hire two additional certified drug & alcohol counselors and two licensed clinical social workers.

...Legislation authored by Norcross (D-1st Dist.) to rename Deptford's post office in honor of 1st Lt. Salvatore Corma passed the House Oversight and Reform Committee on Tuesday, the congressman's office announced.

..."Sal Corma gave his life for his country and his very last actions show his valor and selflessness. Renaming the Deptford Post Office in his memory will remind the people of South Jersey of the sacrifices this young hero made so that we may be free," said Norcross in a press release.

...In celebration of CTE Month Congressman Donald Norcross toured the programs at the Gloucester County Institute of Technology (GCIT).

...Norcross got to see first-hand young people getting valuable hands-on experience in a wide array of specialized fields, from welding and electrical work, to baking and pastry arts, and even television production.

...Representative Donald Norcross, congressman for NJ's 1st congressional district, visited with the Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey to talk about The Paycheck Fairness Act.

..."The Paycheck Fairness Act is the second generation of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act which talked about making sure that women are paid the equal amount that men are paid when they're doing the same job," said Norcross.

Washington, DC-Rep. Donald Norcross (NJ-01) today introduced the Fair Wage Act of 2016 in the U.S. House of Representatives, aimed at increasing the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour.

Also today, Rep. Norcross joined New Jersey Senate President Steve Sweeney and Assembly Majority Leader Louis Greenwald as they proposed a constitutional amendment to gradually raise the minimum wage in New Jersey to $15 an hour.
