WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Donald Norcross (D-NJ-01) introduced the bipartisan Fairness for Federal Contractors Act to provide lost wages up to $1,400 per week to federal contractors who were impacted by the partial government shutdown that recently ended. The Act is co-sponsored by U.S. Congressman Chris Smith (R-NJ-04) and supported by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM), the Communications Workers of America (CWA) and the AFL-CIO.
WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01) – the only member of New Jersey's congressional delegation who serves on the House Committee on Education and Labor – was today selected to serve on the Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor & Pensions (HELP) and the Subcommittee on Higher Education and Workforce Investment.
The HELP Subcommittee deals with all matters regarding the relationships between employers and employees, including the jurisdiction oversight of the National Labor Relations Board, pensions and employment-related benefits.
