App Challenge

The 2024 Congressional App Challenge is now open! The Congressional App Challenge is an annual competition designed to encourage students’ creativity and participation in STEM education fields.

The Congressional App Challenge is open to all middle and high school students in the First Congressional District of New Jersey. Participants can create an app for desktop/PC, web, tablet, mobile, or other devices using any programming language, including C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, or "block code."

Students entering the competition must submit their project to CongressionalAppChallenge.us by 12pm EST on October 24, 2024.

The winner from NJ-01 will be chosen by a panel of expert judges and featured on CongressionalAppChallenge.us. The winning app will be eligible for display in the U.S. Capitol, and the winning students are invited to the #HouseofCode Capitol Hill Reception in Washington, DC honoring the winners from across the country.

Find more details on eligibility rules here. You can also visit the Congressional App Challenge website to learn more. Any application that has previously been submitted and selected as a winner for a district in the past will be immediately disqualified from consideration.
