Our national workforce keeps our country running and provides invaluable services we often take for granted. Nobody should have to work multiple jobs or extraordinary hours to provide for their family, save for retirement or feel financially secure. As an electrician by trade, I know the best social program in the world is a job and I believe every worker must have an opportunity to succeed, which starts with fair pay. Women have made great strides in history, but it’s time they receive equal pay for equal work and the opportunity to maintain a work and family balance. We need to ensure working families have fair wages, safe working conditions, and a voice in the workplace.

U.S. Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01) reiterated his call for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to investigate the safety of Amazon's warehouses following reports of a death at one of the company's warehouses in New Jersey.
"People should feel confident that when they go to work they'll be safe and come home the way they went in," Norcross wrote in a public statement on July 20. "Amazon is failing to fulfill that basic promise."

Parker requesting a probe into whether the retail giant engages in conduct designed to hide injuries from OSHA and others, either by discouraging workers from self-reporting their injuries, misclassifying workplace injuries, or other ways.

"Despite commitments by Jeff Bezos to make Amazon the 'Earth's Safest Place to Work,' reporting suggests that conditions for the Amazon workers are worsening and are out of line with industry norms," Norcross and the other delegates wrote.
