Washington, DC–Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01) issued the following statement following the failure of the Republican-led Congress’ health care legislation:

“After seven years of promising, Republicans couldn’t pass their so-called health care bill because only two groups would have benefitted: millionaires and undertakers. I am thankful that this vote will not happen today. But I remain concerned the fight to save our health care is far from over. Clearly, the Republican agenda for America boils down to tax breaks for the super wealthy at the expense of our families, and TrumpCare would have literally put millions of lives at risk. Today, Americans spoke loud and clear. They don’t want this Republican plan that raises costs, cuts coverage, imposes an ‘age tax’ on seniors, guts Medicaid, and endangers Medicare. I remain hopeful that Congress can work together to actually improve America’s health care system in a way that doesn’t turn our backs on our children, women, seniors, and all of our neighbors struggling with the disease of addiction,” said Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01).
