While living in Camden, the great poet Walt Whitman wrote about "a City Invincible," and while we've adopted that motto, many forget he also wrote of a "City of Friends." It is this idea of friendship and community that, I believe, led us on a new path for Camden.

CAMDEN — The City of Camden has found itself near the top of some undesirable lists over the years, including most dangerous cities.

But this week, the Camden metropolitan area was recognized for being at the top of a much more positive data set: It had the highest percent increase of jobs over the course of a year.

...Norcross, now in his second term representing the Democratic-friendly 1st District, has found success in both areas during the first 100 days of the 115th Congress, although he said he remains weary of many of the moves made by Republican President Donald Trump.

..."It's no surprise that I didn't support this president," Norcross said Monday night. "We will work with him when we agree and we will fight like hell when we disagree."

...Rep. Donald Norcross, D-1st of Camden, who spoke to activists at an afternoon town hall in Collingswood via teleconference, said the delay was welcome news but the fight continues.

..."Republicans don't have the votes today to raise our costs, cut coverage, and impose their 'age tax' on seniors. But they might tomorrow, so I will continue to speak out against this bill," he said.

..."If you were at the Jewish Federation in Philadelphia, you had funding for the last 13 years," said Congressman Donald Norcross. "If you're one of the eight synagogues and schools in Philadelphia, you got funding last year. But somehow, if you live in New Jersey, as we do, you were ineligible for that funding."

..."This is a fight that we're all in together," said Rep. Norcross. "To drive out hate and to make sure funding is there when you need it."
