WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01) announced that a Gloucester Township Fire Department has been awarded a $153,214 Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant.

This SAFER grant will allow the Fire District 4 department to add a fifth full-time firefighter, with a fair salary and benefits, to their staff, which includes nearly 30 volunteers.

The Task Force is urging Congress and the Administration to work together to ensure that the Public Health Emergency Fund has the resources to take on the crisis.

CHERRY HILL, NJ – U.S. Congressman Donald Norcross and Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02), Vice-Chair and Co-Chair of the Bipartisan Heroin Task Force, sent letter to President Trump calling for action to address the opioid epidemic. The letter comes following the initial findings of The Commission on Combatting Drug Addiction and the Opioid Crisis, which was released after the commission missed two self-imposed deadlines.

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01) successfully included a provision in the Department of Defense Appropriations Act that helps veterans struggling with the disease of addiction by directing the Department of Defense to set aside $5 million to study the connection between opioid addiction and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01), member of the House Armed Services Committee, introduced a provision in the Department of Defense Appropriations Act to provide $162 million to the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE).

"We must focus on sustainability, follow sound science and add high-wage jobs in the energy sector," said Congressman Norcross. "By providing additional resources for energy efficiency and renewable energy, we can better meet the needs of our 21st century economy."
