Norcross Stresses Continued Need for Independent Investigation After Classified Briefing
May 19, 2017
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01), member of the House Armed Services Committee, issued the following statement after attending a classified bipartisan briefing with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein regarding the firing of FBI Director Comey and investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election:
"I walked into the briefing with confidence, but I walked out with great skepticism. I feel more strongly than ever that we need a fully independent commission to investigate Russia’s attempts to influence our election and, ultimately, our democracy.
"I remain hopeful that a new, outside source will best be able to get all the facts."
