Press Releases

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01) released the following statement regarding the U.S. Department of Labor’s Industry-Recognized Apprenticeship Program (IRAP) final rule:

“The Department of Labor’s final IRAP rule continues to advance an untested apprenticeship model, but recognizes the construction industry as the ‘gold standard’ of the Registered Apprenticeship Program. As I described to Secretary Scalia in a meeting last week, the Registered Apprenticeship Programs in the construction industry offer a proven, successful model – and I know this because I’m the product of an IBEW registered electrical apprenticeship. The Registered Apprenticeship Program has strong bipartisan support and will continue to provide American workers with high-quality programs, portable credentials and higher wages.”
