Rep. Norcross Releases Statement on U.S.-Led Coalition Strikes Against Iran-Aligned Houthi Rebels in Yemen

CHERRY HILL, NJ – Today, Rep. Donald Norcross (D-NJ), Ranking Member of the Tactical Air and Land Subcommittee, released the following statement on the U.S.-led coalition strikes against Iran-aligned Houthi rebels in Yemen:
“Last night’s strikes against Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen are vital to ensuring global security and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea. Despite repeated warnings from the United States and our allies, the Houthis have launched more than two dozen attacks on military and commercial vessels since November. The U.S.-led coalition strikes directed at targets used by the Houthis to launch these attacks demonstrated remarkable restraint. They are a measured, proportional, and appropriate response to Houthi attacks that have disrupted vital international shipping lanes and endangered U.S. personnel. Our armed forces in the region will continue to do whatever is necessary to defend against terrorism and protect American interests. I look forward to learning more about this situation from the Biden Administration and Defense Department officials.”
