WASHINGTON, DC – Yesterday, Congressman Donald Norcross (D-NJ) was appointed to serve on another House Democratic Leadership Committee where he plans to bring forward the voice of South Jersey families and advance their agenda for jobs and middle class opportunities. Named to the new Democratic Policy and Communications Committee, Rep. Norcross will join party leaders to stand up for hardworking Americans and pursue their priorities in the new Congress.
“I am proud to be part of such a diverse and determined team of leaders who are committed to the needs of middle class families – creating opportunities for good paying jobs, affordable health care, and a chance to obtain a quality education are our top priorities,” said Congressman Norcross. “We have a lot of work ahead of us, and I’m eager to continue my efforts to bring South Jersey’s ideas and insight to the many challenges we face.”
The Committee will be Chaired by Congressman Steve Israel of New York. In addition to Congressmen Norcross and Israel, the following Democratic Members will serve on the Policy & Communications Committee:

Congressman Norcross also serves on the Democratic Leadership’s Steering & Policy Committee, which is responsible for advising the Caucus on the nation’s most pressing issues and assigning Members to their respective House committees. In addition, Rep. Norcross was appointed last week to the House Armed Services Committee, which is responsible for funding the Department of Defense and the United States Armed forces, having jurisdiction over military operations and defense policy.
