Donald Norcross (NJ-01) today announced a $483,000 U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS)/National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant for Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine (SOM) for Pharmacology, Physiology, and Biological Chemistry Research as it relates to Mitochondrial Disease.

Washington, DC-Rep. Donald Norcross (NJ-01) today announced a $126,667 Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) for the Laurel Springs, New Jersey Fire Department.

"Our firefighters can't be on the front lines of danger with outdated equipment. That's why I fight in Washington, DC for our local heroes, like the brave volunteers of Laurel Springs Fire Department, to be equipped with the modern gear they need to do their jobs safely," said Rep. Camden, New Jersey-Rep. Donald Norcross (NJ-01) today welcomed civil rights icon and U.S. Congressman John Lewis to Camden, New Jersey for important discussions on gun violence and designating a City property linked to the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. as an historic landmark.

The Congressmen first visited a property at 753 Walnut Street in Camden, which local historians identified as a former home to Dr. King while he studied at the former Crozer Theological Seminary in Upland, Pennsylvania in the 1950s.

Washington, DC-Rep. Donald Norcross (NJ-01) today announced a $5,240,424 Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) Grant for the Camden Fire Department. The funds will enable the department to hire 27 full-time firefighters with salary and benefits for the City's nine fire companies.

Cherry Hill, NJ-Rep. Donald Norcross (NJ-01) today announced the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has awarded $300 million in grants to help very low-income veteran families prevent homelessness.

Among the recipients of the grant award, Catholic Charities, Diocese of Camden, Inc., which will receive $1,299,852.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park, TN-Rep. Donald Norcross (NJ-01) today traveled to Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee in observance of the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service.

Rep. Norcross joined Senator Lamar Alexander (TN), Rep. Phil Roe (TN-01) and local leaders for an appreciation luncheon honoring Park employees at the Park's headquarters in Gatlinburg.
