Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01) issued the below statement following President Obama's visit to Camden, New Jersey. The President's visit focused on the innovative steps the city has taken to create economic opportunity, help police do their jobs more safely, and reduce crime in the process.

"It is such an honor to have President Obama here in Camden to see firsthand the remarkable work being done by our new county police force," said Congressman Donald Norcross. "Along with improvements in education and new exciting investments in our local economy, the efforts of our men and women in uniform are changing the dynamic of this city – not only has there been a dramatic reduction in violent crime, but the department’s focus on community-oriented policing will continue building an even stronger bond with the residents based on trust and shared priorities. There’s still a lot of work to do, but having the President here reaffirms that we are on the right track and I am thankful that the President and his Administration continue to share in our vision for Camden and South Jersey."
