WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Norcross was unanimously elected by the Democratic Caucus – along with Rep. Stacey Plaskett of the U.S. Virgin Islands – to represent the incoming freshman class for the 114th Congress. 
 
Chaired by Leader Nancy Pelosi, the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee is responsible for advising the Caucus on our nation’s most pressing issues, carrying out the party’s agenda, and assigning Members to their respective House committees. Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro of Connecticut was renamed as Steering Co-Chair and Congresswoman Donna Edwards of Maryland was elected to serve as Policy Co-Chair in the upcoming Congress.
 
“I am humbled and honored to join such a distinguished and diverse group of party leaders as we work together to create better opportunities for America’s middle class,” said Congressman Norcross. “I thank Leader Pelosi and my colleagues for the trust they placed in me and I’m looking forward to learning from them and getting to work on improving our economy and creating jobs.”
 
The Steering and Policy Committee includes members of the elected leadership, Ranking Members of the exclusive committees and representatives appointed by the leadership and selected from each region of the country.
