CAMDEN, N.J. – Today, Rep. Donald Norcross (D-NJ) released the following statement on the passing of United Steelworkers (USW) International President Tom Conway:

“A proud son of a union family from New Jersey, Tom Conway dedicated his life to fighting for and improving the lives of USW members, their families, and working people across the country. Tom was a relentless advocate for fair trade and American jobs, and he understood the power of bargaining, often using his experience and skills to directly negotiate with major companies across multiple different industries.

“Tom was a champion of the labor movement and working people who not only saved American jobs, but also created them. His voice and expertise will be missed at USW and the labor movement. I am keeping his family, friends, coworkers, and union members in my thoughts during this trying time.”
