Washington, DC – Nearly 3 years after being battered by Superstorm Sandy, Rep. Donald Norcross (NJ-01)today announced more federal financial assistance for the State of New Jersey.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) awarded a $19,337,503 million grant to the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management for costs related to Superstorm Sandy.

“This federal grant money is another step in the right direction for those still recovering from the impact of Superstorm Sandy. While this funding will go a long way, there’s still much to be done, especially for those who still aren’t back in their homes and are struggling to return to some semblance of normalcy,” said Rep. Donald Norcross.

The funds will enable New Jersey communities to offset the costs associated with the disaster.

Superstorm Sandy struck New Jersey on October 29, 2012, destroying or damaging 37,000 homes throughout the state, causing billions of dollars in damage.
