Today, Rep. Donald Norcross (D-NJ) secured $13,565,031 for 14 Community Project Funding (CPF) awards throughout New Jersey’s First Congressional District to support economic development, create jobs, and respond to the most pressing needs of the community.

“I’m proud to have secured $13,565,031 for 14 community projects throughout the First Congressional District to spur economic growth and improve the quality of life. These projects and investments will support our communities by creating affordable housing, upgrading road and transportation projects, improving public safety, and ensuring clean and safe drinking water,” Rep. Norcross said. “Delivering funding for these CPFs has been a top priority, and I look forward to the profound impact they will have throughout our communities. I will continue to fight to ensure that South Jersey receives its fair share of federal resources and funding to make our community a better place to live for all.”

The projects are funded through the six 2024 spending bills passed today by the House to keep our communities safe, fight inflation, and boost our economy.

The 14 CPF awards for New Jersey’s First Congressional District include:

$1,616,279 to Deptford for roadway safety improvements to Locust Grove Boulevard and Village Boulevard.

$959,752 to Collingswood for the Comly Ave Water Treatment Plant Project.

$1,000,000 to Paulsboro for the construction of a municipal building that will house the Borough’s police department and courts.

$500,000 to Haddonfield for the construction of the new Haddonfield Police Department headquarters.

$2,000,000 to Camden for wastewater and stormwater management infrastructure to reduce overflows and flooding.

$880,000 to Glassboro for an electric senior bus and charging station.

$850,000 to Maple Shade to provide potable water and improve the water system.

$850,000 to Merchantville to upgrade a multi-use path and provide safer pedestrian and bike traffic through the Borough.

$850,000 for Pine Hill Recreation Center Rehabilitation Project to remove contaminants in the recreation center floor.

$963,000 to Camden County for lifesaving police law enforcement equipment.

$800,000 to Gloucester City to increase safety in parks and public areas.

$750,000 to Gibbsboro to create a community event space.

$696,000 to Washington Township for Ward Lake and Spring Lake stormwater improvements that will help with flooding.

$850,000 for affordable senior housing in Camden County.

The 2024 funding bills passed today help working families by providing full funding for key lifelines such as food assistance and more affordable housing and homeownership, ensuring America’s energy independence with robust investments clean energy technologies, and honoring veterans by investing in their health care. The legislation is expected to be passed by the Senate and signed into law by President Biden later this week.
