Washington, DC - Rep. Donald Norcross (NJ-01) today announced at $12.8 million dollar grant from the Department of Veterans Affairs that will help homeless South Jersey veterans.

Of the $12.8 million in funding, Volunteers of America Delaware Valley will receive $395,295 to provide 12 beds for homeless veterans utilizing a “Transition in Place” housing model at apartment sites in Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, and Mercer counties, as well as in Philadelphia.

“No veteran should ever be homeless. Sadly, there are far too many of our American heroes who don’t have a place to call home. I’m hopeful this funding will help veterans transition to more stable housing. They fought and served honorably for our country. The least we can do is work to ensure they receive the care they deserve,” said Rep. Norcross.

“This solidifies the great work being done by nonprofits on behalf of our nation’s veterans,” said Steve Shultz with Volunteers of America Delaware Valley.
