The $1.5-million grant -- awarded through FEMA's Assistance to Firefighters Grant -- will be used to buy new air tanks (or self-contained breathing apparatuses) for firefighters in Collingswood, Pennsauken and Camden City, Congressman Donald Norcross said.

The congressman said he started advocating in support of the grant in December of last year and thought it would be a big help for municipalities trying to do more with less.
