Cherry Hill, NJ-U.S. Rep. Donald Norcross (NJ-01) today announced a $28,285 Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) for the Runnemede Fire Department.
“I’m proud to have supported this grant application and today join with the Runnemede Fire Department celebrating this award. These funds are critical to the safety of the first responders who are on the front lines of danger every day. Their safety should not and cannot be compromised,” said Rep. Donald Norcross.
The Runnemede Fire Department will use the funds to acquire new protective gear for firefighters, including helmets, boots, and turnout coats & pants.
Runnemede Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief Alfred Loverdi, who led the Department’s grant application, shared this reaction with Congressman Norcross: “Safety is paramount and this goes a long way. This ensures the protective gear worn by our firefighters is the most up-to-date.”
Rep. Norcross has supported many successful grant applications for fire departments across South Jersey and is proud to advocate for all fire departments in his Congressional district in their applications for federal grant awards.
