Press Releases

WASHINGTON, DC – Following reports that President Trump is sending Congress a rescission package that takes away $107 million for Hurricane Sandy relief and $7 billion from the Children's Health Insurance Program, Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01), issued the below statement:

“Trump and his Republican accomplices are continuing their aggravated assault on New Jersey. They tried to rip healthcare away from New Jersey families, passed a tax scam that punishes Jersey the most, and voted to allow ‘concealed carry’ of dangerous weapons in our communities – a direct attack on our state’s laws and values. Now, they are trying to take funds from Sandy recovery. You’d have to be an anti-Jersey schmuck to support this.

“The ‘moocher state’ Republicans that voted against Sandy aid in the first place are now trying to use every trick in the book to suck New Jersey dry.

“While this rescission proposal is particularly horrendous for New Jersey, it also hurts all American children and families by severely cutting the Children's Health Insurance Program. It’s heartless and despicable!”
