CHERRY HILL, NJ – Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01) issued the following statement on Labor Day:

“For the second year in a row, Labor Day comes as communities across the country continue to grapple with the COVID-19 pandemic. Our frontline workers have been vital in keeping us safe and our country running the past 18 months. It took a pandemic for so many to realize that essential workers, including our local health care workers, teachers, grocery store clerks, first responders, postal workers, truck drivers and construction workers are the backbone of our country.

“In addition to a deadly pandemic, last week South Jersey was hit with a storm that left homes and communities devastated. Once again, our workers showed up and risked their safety to be there for those impacted by the storm. From the linemen fixing powerlines, to the nurses and doctors treating patients in the hospitals, to the emergency responders digging through debris and addressing the floods, we could never recover without your help. On behalf of a grateful nation, thank you to all the men and women who show up each day and put in the work for our communities.”
