Press Releases

Today, U.S. Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01) announced the establishment of the Congressional School to Service (CSS) Program. The program celebrates the decision of high school seniors to serve in the U.S. military after graduation and awards them a certificate of commendation and red, white, and blue honors cords to wear at their graduation ceremonies. The program’s 2022 cohort counts 116 high school seniors from New Jersey’s 1st Congressional District as members.

“Putting service to our country before self is a shining example of the courage and leadership of the inaugural Congressional School to Service Program class,” said Congressman Norcross. “Choosing to join the military is not a decision these students take lightly, and I want to let them know that their choice to serve does not go unnoticed. It is worth celebrating. Congratulations to the Congressional School to Service Class of 2022, I know you will continue to make South Jersey and your country proud.”

Congressman Norcross also delivered the graduation speech at Eastern Regional High School in Voorhees, NJ, today, where he noted that the high school has one of the largest number of Congressional School to Service Program members among its graduating class.

As the father of a veteran and member of the House Armed Services Committee, Congressman Norcross is committed to supporting and celebrating the women and men of the United States military, Defense Department civilian employees, and defense contractors. He also serves on the House Education and Labor Committee, where he champions high-quality education and career training opportunities for all.
