Rep. Norcross Applauds New Missing Moves Ramps Opening Today
November 28, 2023
Today, Rep. Donald Norcross (D-NJ), applauded the New Jersey Department of Transportation’s opening of new ramps connecting I-295 northbound to Route 42 southbound, and Route 42 northbound to I-295 southbound.
“The completion of this project is great news for South Jersey. These ramps will improve safety reduce traffic congestion throughout our South Jersey communities by allowing for the direct movement of traffic between roadways,” Rep. Norcross said. “The Missing Moves project is tackling our long-term congestion problem and it’s another example of federal funding keeping people safe and improving the quality of life throughout our region. I applaud NJDOT for the completion of this vital project on time and on budget, and I will continue to fight to bring federal dollars back home to South Jersey.”
The ramps are scheduled to be open by the morning commute today, Tuesday, November 28.
The closures are necessary to complete striping, install raised pavement markers (RPM), uncover new signs and remove construction barrels. Over the next few weeks there may be overnight closures on I-295 and Route 42 for minor work
According to NJDOT, the $180 million federally funded I-295/Route 42 Missing Moves project began in March 2020 and is being completed on time and on budget. The project, which has been discussed for decades, will ease congestion and improve safety for the nearly 150,000 motorists who travel through this corridor daily.
