Today, Rep. Donald Norcross (D-NJ) announced a $8,000,000 U.S. Department of Transportation INFRA Grant to improve Route 168 in South Jersey.

The funding will support pavement reconstruction and resurfacing projects, Road Diet and Complete Streets enhancements, safety upgrades for sidewalks, intersections, and bike lanes, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) deployment, and more.

“This funding will make Route 168 safer, more efficient, and more reliable for the thousands of South Jerseyans who drive, bike, and walk it every day,” said Rep. Norcross. “I’m proud that the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is continuing to deliver for South Jersey by supporting projects like this one that creates jobs and improves quality of life. Bringing home federal dollars for our communities is one of my top priorities, and I will continue to work to ensure South Jersey gets its fair share. From improving rush hour traffic to extending bike lanes, I look forward to seeing the many ways this grant will benefit our community.”

The INFRA Grant Program is administered by the U.S. Department of Transportation and provides competitive grants to state, local, and tribal governments for freight and highway projects of national and regional significance that create jobs, improve safety, apply transformative technology, address climate change and racial equity, or deliver operational improvements.

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law continues historic investment in our nation’s infrastructure and improving our quality of life and creating good-paying jobs for hardworking families in South Jersey and across the country. Over the past two years, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law has delivered transformative results for our community through $8.1 billion to repair and improve our highways and bridges, $263.7 million to expand access to high-speed internet, and $463 million to provide clean and safe water across New Jersey.
