We must do everything we can to ensure service members, veterans, and their families are cared for in return for their service to our country. Proper defense budgeting ensures our soldiers are best equipped to get the job done. Maintaining the readiness of our military also ensures our national defense. Supporting South Jersey’s Joint Base McGuire–Dix–Lakehurst not only supports our national security needs, but it also employs 44,000 civilians and military personnel.
I also have a personal commitment to the unbreakable bond between the United States and Israel, our closest ally in the Middle East and the region’s only democracy. I am proud to serve on the Armed Services Committee to ensure our military, allies, and strategic partners can meet domestic and security threats to our shared democratic values.

Tonight, U.S. Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01) voted to pass the Protecting Our Kids Act (H.R. 7910), a critical piece of legislation that he cosponsored and that would help reduce gun violence in the United States. According to new CDC data, guns are the number one killer of children in America – more than car accidents or cancer. Over the last two decades, more school-age children have died from guns than police officers in the line of duty and active-duty military combined.
"With this aid, the United States is sending a powerful message to the oligarchs in the Kremlin: We remain firm in our belief that Ukrainian freedom will triumph over Russian fascism," said Rep. Donald Norcross, D-1st Dist.

"The people who are coming from Ukraine across the border were walking," Norcross described. "Literally might have a backpack, might have a plastic bag full of their belongings. Primarily women and their children and the despair on their face quite frankly says it all."

Today, Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01) announced that he is headed to Europe this week as a member of a bipartisan House delegation to demonstrate solidarity with our NATO allies and to visit Ukrainian refugees seeking shelter in Poland.
"This delegation is a demonstration our commitment to our Allies and partners in Europe. I look forward to hearing from the Ukrainians who have fled Putin's terror and learning how we can help those who remain in Ukraine," Norcross said in a statement.
