National Security
We must do everything we can to ensure service members, veterans, and their families are cared for in return for their service to our country. Proper defense budgeting ensures our soldiers are best equipped to get the job done. Maintaining the readiness of our military also ensures our national defense. Supporting South Jersey’s Joint Base McGuire–Dix–Lakehurst not only supports our national security needs, but it also employs 44,000 civilians and military personnel.
I also have a personal commitment to the unbreakable bond between the United States and Israel, our closest ally in the Middle East and the region’s only democracy. I am proud to serve on the Armed Services Committee to ensure our military, allies, and strategic partners can meet domestic and security threats to our shared democratic values.

"What I also want bring into the conversation is many of those weapons that we're talking about are of a design of decades ago. Is it the best use to reengage those lines or to upgrade? How long will that take versus what we need? What might we potentially need for Ukraine or other countries," House Air and Land Subcommittee chairman Donald Norcross, D-N.J., told Defense News.
Norcross told Defense News the issue raises the question of whether to spend money accelerating production on older weapons for Ukraine that the U.S. military isn't using. It also highlights the defense industrial base's broader weaknesses in the area of ammunition and its components.
"We're not going to have World War III because of this," Norcross said. "We are supplying an unprecedented [number] of arms to train people day by day."
"We see the deaths. We see the heartbroken parents who have lost a child, and it just reconfirms that what we're doing [with these kits] is the right thing," Norcross said.
Today, Congressman Donald Norcross (D-NJ-01) released the following statement upon passing the Funding for the People Act (H.R. 2471), an omnibus package of 12 fiscal year 2022 appropriations bills and supplemental funding to support Ukraine, and for 10 community projects in New Jersey's 1st Congressional District.
Rep. Donald Norcross (D-NJ) denounced the incident, calling for increased focus on keeping Jewish community centers secure.
U.S. Rep. Donald Norcross also deplored the incident, saying he was "saddened and angered."
"These threats have no place in our communities, and we must continue to find ways to help keep our Jewish neighbors safe," the Camden Democrat said.
"Today's announcement makes real what we have been saying all along—that 'Made in America' should mean 'Made in America.' In fact, the Machinists Union, along with U.S. Rep. Donald Norcross and U.S. Sen. Tammy Duckworth, championed an amendment to the 2022 National Defense Authorization Act that would have made a similar 'Buy American' threshold increase for defense products. That bipartisan amendment passed the House before being defeated by corporate-backed politicians in the Senate.
Norcross said the sanctions will help shut Putin up and "pay the cost."
"These are the heaviest sanctions in the history of our country outside of North Korea and Iran," he said.
Today, Congressman Donald Norcross (D-NJ-01) issued the following statement following President Joe Biden's first State of the Union Address.
