National Security
We must do everything we can to ensure service members, veterans, and their families are cared for in return for their service to our country. Proper defense budgeting ensures our soldiers are best equipped to get the job done. Maintaining the readiness of our military also ensures our national defense. Supporting South Jersey’s Joint Base McGuire–Dix–Lakehurst not only supports our national security needs, but it also employs 44,000 civilians and military personnel.
I also have a personal commitment to the unbreakable bond between the United States and Israel, our closest ally in the Middle East and the region’s only democracy. I am proud to serve on the Armed Services Committee to ensure our military, allies, and strategic partners can meet domestic and security threats to our shared democratic values.

"I am calling for crippling economic sanctions to be placed on Putin, his inner circle, their families, and the corporations and financial institutions that they rely on for economic and military muscle," said Congressman Donald Norcross.
"I strongly condemn Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Vladimir Putin bears sole responsibility for this escalation in hostilities. Despite months of multilateral negotiations and engagement of many of our European allies and partners, Putin has decided to send troops into a sovereign nation," said Congressman Donald Norcross.
Congressman Donald Norcross (D-NJ-01), chairman of the Tactical Air and Land Forces Subcommittee of the House Armed Services Committee, today released the following statement after the Russian military invaded Ukraine.
Donald Norcross of New Jersey, who chairs the House Armed Services Tactical Air and Land Forces panel, which oversees most Army programs, told CQ Roll Call in a statement that climate change "increases the risk of conflict over natural resources, causes destabilizing mass migration due to extreme weather events, and changes the terrain upon which the Army could be asked to operate.
"We strongly support providing the full $1 billion for the Iron Dome replenishment," the letter, organized by Rep. Donald Norcross (D-NJ), reads. "We hope that as you negotiate with the Senate on FY2022 appropriations, the $1 billion in supplemental funding that the Senate included is maintained."
U.S. Rep. Donald Norcross (D., N.J.) wrote in the Star-Ledger, of Newark, "If we cannot accept the threat is real, and if leaders cannot show bold action in pushing back against it, our democracy remains at risk."
"Remember five people died that day," said Norcross, D-1st Dist. "This wasn't tourists going to Disney World. You saw and I saw what was going on there. This was literally trying to take over the government. The idea of trying to discredit the actual event is, I think, a terrible disservice."
One year ago today, I was among the final members of the U.S. Congress to leave the floor of the House of Representatives. I arrived that morning to partake in a historic but largely symbolic moment: certifying the Electoral College vote after then-presidential candidate Joseph R. Biden's victory. I left to the sound of gunfire...
To save the soul of America, lawmakers, the free press, and citizens must unite against anti-democratic forces and secure our shared future as a democracy.
