November 9, 2015
Kabul, Afghanistan-Rep. Donald Norcross (NJ-01) is in Afghanistan as part of a bipartisan Congressional Delegation visiting the region. Rep. Norcross, a member of the House Armed Services Committee, made the nearly 7,000 mile journey to examine U.S. military operations in Afghanistan.
Rep. Norcross met with Afghanistan’s president, Ashraf Ghani, the country’s C.E.O. Abdullah Abdullah, as well as U.S. Ambassador P. Michael McKinley and American troops deployed to the region.
“I wanted to learn more about our strategy in Afghanistan and how the country’s leaders are keeping the region safe and stable in the ongoing war on terror. I thank our service members currently stationed in Afghanistan. And as Veterans Day approaches, I want to thank the Americans who served here and are now back home on U.S. soil,” said Rep. Norcross.
The Congressman’s trip also includes a stop in the United Arab Emirates, where Rep. Norcross and the Congressional Delegation are scheduled to meet with the Crown Prince and Minister of Defense to discuss security in the region.
Because of security concerns, additional details about Rep. Norcross’ travel are not available.
Congressman Donald Norcross is a member of the House Armed Services Committee and the House Budget Committee, and serves as an Assistant Whip in the 114th Congress.
