WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01), a member of the House Education and the Workforce Committee, applauded Governor Phil Murphy and Liutenant Governor Sheila Oliver’s ‘Stronger and Fairer New Jersey’ agenda.

“Governor Murphy understands that middle-class families are experiencing a long-term decline in their economic security and that we need to make our economy work for everyone,” said Congressman Norcross. “I strongly support his call for Congress and the State Legislature to raise wages for hardworking Americans.”

“I’ve worked for minimum wage and spent my career fighting for a fair day’s pay for a hard day’s work. Raising the minimum wage at the federal level is my top priority in Congress and I am incredibly proud that my home state is leading the way in the fight for $15.”

As part of his mission to attack inequality, Murphy signed an executive order promoting equal pay for women as his first official act as Governor.

Norcross added: “Today, Gov. Murphy and Lt. Gov. Oliver made a strong statement that the #TimesUp in New Jersey in both words and actions. Our state is proudly leading the nation in
