CHERRY HILL, NJ – Today, Rep. Donald Norcross (NJ-01) announced that Ronak Pathak and David Levin from Cherry Hill High School East have won the 2023 Congressional App Challenge for New Jersey’s 1st Congressional District.

The student’s app, Mayflower, uses AI to help users find high-quality employment through job searching, resume development, and interview prep tools.

“I congratulate Ronak and David for their achievement in creating an app to bridge the networking gap and expand access to tools for many who may struggle to find job opportunities, build a resume, or prepare for interviews,” said Rep. Norcross. “As South Jerseyans, we know that the best social program is a good job, and Ronak and David’s app will connect more hardworking individuals with good paying jobs, quality employment, and pathways to the middle class. South Jersey’s talent and innovation continues to lead the way, and I am proud that Ronak and David are using their creativity and skills to help our community.”

The Congressional App Challenge is designed to engage student creativity and encourage their participation in STEM fields. This nationwide event allows high school students from across the country to compete against their peers by creating and exhibiting their software applications on a platform of their choice.

Winning apps from congressional districts across the country are eligible for display in the U.S. Capitol and featured on the House of Representatives website. Winners are invited to Washington, DC, to attend a summit called #HouseOfCode where they can display their apps to members of Congress and members of the technology community.
