Washington, DC- Rep. Donald Norcross (NJ-01) is pleased to announce a $7,714,147 U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HUD) grant to the Center for Family Services’ Head Start program in Camden County.
The multi-million dollar grant will help the organization fulfill its mission of preparing preschool-aged children for success in kindergarten and beyond.
“This is critical funding that will lay the foundations for the futures of well-deserving children across Camden County,” said Rep. Norcross.
Center for Family Services President & CEO Richard Stagliano issued this statement to Rep. Norcross’ office today, “This funding will enable us to continue providing high quality, state-of-the art education preparation to more than 700 disadvantaged Camden County children, as well as services to their families. And, it will enable us to retain more than 150 staff who are working on this program.”
In addition to learning experiences for children ages 3-5, the Center For Family Services’ Head Start program also offers support services including health and dental care, nutrition, special education, and parent skill workshops. Children enrolled in the program are provided with a nutritious breakfast, lunch, and snack each day.
