Cherry Hill, NJ – Today, Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01) announced that CAMcare Health Corporation was awarded a $2,002,760 grant from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS). The funding comes as the second installment of an overall $3.4 million in federal grant assistance this year.
The grant will be used to support overall operations at CAMCare, which has provided high quality comprehensive health care to Camden's medically underserved since 1978.
“This is about doing what’s right and decent for those struggling for access to quality health care,” said Congressman Norcross. “This investment will not only improve the health and well-being of our underserved population, it will help support the jobs of dozens of health care professionals working day in and day out to serve the community.”
Awarded under HHS’s Health Center Cluster Grants Program, grantees are selected on a competitive basis having demonstrated a strong reputation in quality care. The grant program is overseen by HHS’s Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) branch.
