Today, U.S. Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01) announced that CAMcare Health Corporation, a federally qualified health care center in South Jersey, will receive a $1.1 million grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The grant will be used to support overall operations at CAMcare, which has provided high-quality comprehensive health care to medically underserved communities in South Jersey since 1978.

“Every American should have access to health care, regardless of their income,” said Congressman Norcross. “During the COVID-19 pandemic, health care centers like CAMcare played a vital role in our health care system and made sure South Jersey residents got the care they needed. This grant allows them to expand their services and continue offering affordable high-quality community-based health care services to South Jersey families. I thank the professionals at CAMcare for their dedication to our community.”

“This generous grant enables us to purchase the necessary equipment and employ the team needed to expand health care in our community. We appreciate everything Congressman Norcross does to build healthier communities and provide access to health care regardless of the ability to pay,” said Duane D. Congressman Norcross has long championed community health care facilities and access to affordable, quality health care for all Americans. At the onset of the pandemic, he secured over $2,500,000 in federal funding for South Jersey health care facilities in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. Additionally, he voted for the American Rescue Plan, which provided CAMcare with over $7.75 million to expand services and access to care in Camden.
